According to Wikipedia, kigurumi are costumed Japanese performers usually dressed as animals or anime characters. More recently, kigurumi have become half costume-half pajama Japanese street fashion outfits. I became interested in them after seeing them on a website selling Japanese gifts. After watching a couple of reviews, here is my take on the craze:
A company called Sazac is the main seller of kigurumis. They have many branches in other countries (aka the USA and other places). Reviewers say they are very comfortable, warm, and nice to sleep and lounge around in.
So, they are basically adult sized onesies that look like animals. Sounds great!
